{"id":16925,"date":"2020-11-23T21:27:09","date_gmt":"2020-11-23T21:27:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=16925"},"modified":"2020-11-23T21:27:10","modified_gmt":"2020-11-23T21:27:10","slug":"craft-to-provide-flight-training-for-south-carolinas-first-collegiate-aeronautics-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/south-carolina\/craft-to-provide-flight-training-for-south-carolinas-first-collegiate-aeronautics-program\/%20","title":{"rendered":"CRAFT to Provide Flight Training for South Carolina\u2019s First Collegiate Aeronautics Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.charlestonsouthern.edu\/academics\/\">Charleston Southern University<\/a> plans to offer South Carolina\u2019s first collegiate aeronautics program with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics (Professional Pilot) beginning in fall of 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charleston Regional Accelerated Flight Training (CRAFT) will\nprovide all the flight training in their Diamond aircraft. \u201cThe CRAFT Flight\nTraining and Simulation team is excited about the opportunity to provide flight\ntraining for the new CSU degree program,\u201d said Amanda Aldea, Co-Owner of CRAFT\nin Charleston, \u201cand to obtain our Part 141 certification.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Diamond-at-CRAFTedit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16926\" width=\"318\" height=\"207\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Diamond-at-CRAFTedit.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Diamond-at-CRAFTedit-300x195.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 318px) 100vw, 318px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Students enrolled in the new program next fall will be able\nto choose between three main tracks: commercial, military or missionary\naviation. \u201cCRAFT\u2019s mission is focused on elevating your lifestyle around flying\nand aviation, giving students access to a modern fleet of Diamond aircraft, and\nmodern Redbird technology,\u201d said Aldea. \u201cWe foster an environment where future\npilots can fall in love with flight. This makes the CRAFT &#8211; CSU partnership a\nperfect fit!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CSU President, Dr. Dondi Costin said their Aeronautics program\nis a natural extension of the university\u2019s vision of integrating faith in\nlearning, leading and serving as they prepare servant leaders to pursue\nsignificant lives. Costin believes that by preparing pilots to impact their\nspheres of influence as commercial, military or missionary pilots, they extend their\nreach into every corner of the globe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Colonel Christopher \u201cC.J.\u201d Will, U.S. Air Force (retired),\nis the founding chair of CSU\u2019s new Aeronautics Department, which is located\nwithin the College of Science and Mathematics. Will is a combat Command Pilot,\nmilitary instructor pilot, and holds FAA Airline Transport Pilot, Commercial\nPilot, Flight Instructor (Single and Multi-Engine) and Remote Pilot Operator\ncertifications and ratings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CRAFT\u2019s training philosophy is simple. Train and master\nflying skills in the simulator, then reinforce them in the aircraft.
