This award was\npresented to this division for the state\u2019s work in improving airports to allow\nfor a safer and modern managed system that provide convenient and efficient\naccess for travelers, businesses, and commerce. Additionally, Bradley Brandt,\nDirector of Aviation, was also announced as the recipient of the esteemed Award\nof Distinction for his service to the aviation community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Brad-Brandtedit-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16865\" width=\"212\" height=\"274\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Brad-Brandtedit-1.jpg 450w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Brad-Brandtedit-1-232x300.jpg 232w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 212px) 100vw, 212px\" \/><figcaption><em>Brad Brandt<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Brandt\nholds a degree in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical\nUniversity, as well as an Aviation Law Diploma from the International Air\nTransport Association. He began his aviation career in airport operations at\nthe Denver International Airport.&nbsp; In 1998, he relocated to Louisiana\nwhere he became a program manager in the Noise Mitigation Program for the Baton\nRouge Metropolitan Airport.&nbsp; Three years later he joined DOTD\u2019s Aviation\nDivision, where he currently serves as the Aviation Director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is an\nhonor that DOTD\u2019s Aviation Division has been recognized by this outstanding\norganization. I would like to praise the work this division does for our system\nof 69 publically owned airports statewide,\u201d said DOTD Secretary Shawn D.\nWilson, Ph.D. \u201cI would also like to congratulate Brad on receiving this notable\naward from LAMA. The aviation community has seen his devotion to his work\nthroughout the state in not only the improvements to our airport\u2019s\ninfrastructure but to the education and outreach for aviation safety. These are\nmuch deserving awards and I am proud of what this agency has accomplished.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brandt\nserved as a member of the National Association of State Aviation Officials\n(NASAO), where he held numerous positions with the organization as a Regional\nDirector for the Southwest Region, Chairman of the Finance Committee, and\nChairman of the NASAO Center for Aviation Research and Education.
