Travelers at America\u2019s Friendliest Airport\u00ae now have new\nflight options to Mexico as Southwest Airlines launched its nonstop, inaugural\nservice from Phoenix to Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta today, making\nPhoenix Southwest\u2019s newest international gateway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSouthwest Airlines is an important community partner,\u201d said\nChair of the Transportation, Infrastructure and Innovation Subcommittee Thelda\nWilliams. \u201cWe are excited that they are committed to Phoenix and have launched\ntheir first international service from Sky Harbor. These flights will not only\nprovide more choices for travelers, but they will continue to boost our local\neconomy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The nonstop service operates daily to both Cabo and Puerto\nVallarta. The Phoenix-Cabo flight departs at 10:50 a.m., and arrives at 2\np.m. The flight then leaves Cabo at 3\np.m., arriving in Phoenix at 4:05 p.m. \nThe Phoenix-Puerto Vallarta flight departs at 11 a.m., and arrives at\n3:45 p.m. It departs Puerto Vallarta at 4:40 p.m. and arrives in Phoenix at\n5:15 p.m. Both flights operate year-round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Though the COVID-19 pandemic has temporarily halted many\ninternational routes to and from Phoenix Sky Harbor, airlines are beginning to\nbring back service and add new service. International flights add more than $3\nbillion to the local economy each year according to the Airport\u2019s most recent\neconomic impact study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
