Established in 2010, the NAC is tasked with exploring\nsolutions to NextGen challenges involving concepts, requirements, operational\ncapabilities and technologies. The NAC examines these considerations in support\nof the FAA\u2019s ongoing modernization of the nation\u2019s air traffic management\nsystem. Bolen is a longtime member of the government-industry group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBusiness aviation has long played an integral role in\nfostering the development of NextGen, and our industry remains committed to the\nimplementation of these technologies to further increase the safety and\nefficiency of our nation\u2019s ATC network,\u201d Bolen said. \u201cI am pleased to accept\nSecretary Chao\u2019s invitation to continue on this key committee, building upon\nthe significant progress already made toward modernizing the NAS.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NAC currently provides input to the FAA and DOT on\ntopics related to data communications, multiple runway operations, surface and\ndata sharing, performance-based navigation and airspace optimization across the\nNortheast Corridor, among other areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
