{"id":16632,"date":"2020-10-13T13:00:09","date_gmt":"2020-10-13T13:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=16632"},"modified":"2020-10-13T13:00:11","modified_gmt":"2020-10-13T13:00:11","slug":"able-flight-selects-usi-to-provide-unmanned-aerial-system-career-training-and-education-to-scholarship-recipients","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/aviation-education\/able-flight-selects-usi-to-provide-unmanned-aerial-system-career-training-and-education-to-scholarship-recipients\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Able Flight Selects USI to Provide Unmanned Aerial System Career Training and Education to Scholarship Recipients"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Unmanned Safety Institute (USI) has been contracted by Able\nFlight, a national aviation non-profit, to provide its scholarship recipients\nwith career oriented Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) training and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Able Flight has been providing flight training scholarships\nto individuals with physical disabilities since 2006, and in recent years has\nexpanded the program to include scholarships supporting training for a variety\nof aviation careers.&nbsp;&nbsp; In its 14-year\nhistory, Able Flight has awarded over 110 flight training and aviation career\ntraining scholarships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Executive Director of Able Flight, Charles Stites,\ncommented, \u201cWith the growth of unmanned aviation, and with a positive outlook\nfor career opportunities in commercial drone operations, we determined that\nthis would be a great time to add a UAS option to our career training\nscholarship program. As with the facilities who provide instruction to\nrecipients of our flight training scholarships, we choose to work with\norganizations like USI that have developed programs that go well beyond the\nminimum standards required by the FAA.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe inherent requirements of unmanned aviation could\nprovide for significantly greater career opportunities for individuals with\nsome sort of physical disability\u201d, added Josh Olds, President of the Unmanned\nSafety Institute.&nbsp; \u201cAs we became more\nfamiliar with Able Flight, it was apparent that their focus on pilot safety and\ncompetency would translate into incredibly talented, industry ready, UAS pilots\nthrough their participation in the USI training program.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Individuals interested in participating in the Able Flight\nUAS Pilot training program should visit the Able Flight website,\nwww.ableflight.org for more information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unmanned Safety Institute (USI) has been contracted by Able Flight, a national aviation non-profit, to provide its scholarship recipients with career oriented Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) training and education.
