North Dakota\u2019s eight commercial service airports during the\nmonth of August posted a total of 43,559 passengers boardings. This is higher than the statewide passenger\nvolume that was seen in each of the last four months and amounts to a 43%\nretention rate of the passengers that North Dakota experienced during the same\nmonth last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The recovery in passengers continues its positive trend for\nNorth Dakota as well as many other airports throughout the country, though the\nnumbers still remain far below pre COVID-19 levels. North Dakota\u2019s airline passenger demand has\nalso been recovering faster than the national average which is currently\nestimated to be at 29% of pre-pandemic levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen comparing current passenger throughput to pre-pandemic\nlevels, North Dakota\u2019s airline passenger retention is an estimated 14% higher\nthan the national rate.\u201d stated Kyle\nWanner, Executive Director of the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission. \u201cThe\nhigher airline passenger retention in our rural state reflects North Dakota\u2019s\nresilience and shows the importance that air service has to our\ncommunities.
