{"id":16436,"date":"2020-09-21T12:13:11","date_gmt":"2020-09-21T12:13:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=16436"},"modified":"2020-09-21T12:15:18","modified_gmt":"2020-09-21T12:15:18","slug":"washington-state-completes-new-aviation-economic-impact-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/washington\/washington-state-completes-new-aviation-economic-impact-study\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Washington State Completes New Aviation Economic Impact Study"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>WSDOT Aviation, with funding from the FAA and the assistance\nof consulting firm Kimley-Horn, has completed a new statewide Aviation Economic\nImpact Study for the Washington Aviation System. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study encompassing data prior to the pandemic revealed\nthe state\u2019s 134 public-use airport system contributes 407,042 jobs, $26.8\nbillion in labor income, and $107 billion in total economic impact (business\nrevenues) to our state\u2019s economy and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airports provide an essential link to the nation&#8217;s airspace, commerce, and emergency services and are an important part of Washington state&#8217;s transportation system and economy. Washington has 134 public airports in 37 of its 39 counties. Each airport fulfills a particular role in supporting community, economic, and transportation needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WSDOT Aviation Division, with the support of the Federal\nAviation Administration (FAA) conducted the aviation economic impact study to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Measure the economic impacts of each public-use airport in Washington.<\/li><li>Assess the economic value that airports create for communities.<\/li><li>Demonstrate how airports and the state aviation system contribute to the state&#8217;s economy and economic competitiveness.<\/li><li>Develop a new Online <a href=\"https:\/\/wsdot.wa.gov\/aviation\/planning\/economiccalc\">Aviation Economic Impact Calculator<\/a> and a new <a href=\"https:\/\/wsdot.maps.arcgis.com\/apps\/webappviewer\/index.html?id=3489687070644102940e30ba4d2ad983\">Airport Economic Mapping Tool<\/a> for various stakeholders to utilize.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To download the full report, visit: <a href=\"ftp:\/\/ftp.wsdot.wa.gov\/incoming\/Aviation%20Economic%20Impact%20Study\/\">WSDOT<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WSDOT Aviation, with funding from the FAA and the assistance of consulting firm Kimley-Horn, has completed a new statewide Aviation Economic Impact Study for the Washington Aviation System.
