The Maintenance Committee of the National Business Aviation\nAssociation (NBAA) this week announced the recipients of the Hank Hilsmann\nMemorial Scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two recipients will be able to attend model-specific\ntraining courses to advance their careers as business aviation maintenance\ntechnicians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sophia Taylor-Home is a student at Gavilan College in the\nA&P Program at California\u2019s San Martin Airport (E16). She plans to pursue a\ncareer in business aviation after she completes the program in 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Caleb Kurz is student at Lansing Community College working\nto obtain his associate\u2019s degree as well as FAA certifications to become an\nA&P mechanic with long term goals to achieve inspection authorization. As\nhe works toward these goals, he intends to continue on the path of a career in\nbusiness aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NBAA Maintenance Committee and NBAA Charities, in\ncoordination with Dassault Falcon Jet Corp. and Dassault\u2019s authorized training\nproviders CAE Simuflite and Flight Safety International, offer the Hank\nHilsmann Memorial Scholarship to current and aspiring aviation maintenance\ntechnicians and military personnel transitioning to business aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The scholarship was created to honor the memory of Hilsmann,\nwhose strength of character inspired a high standard of caring in the business\naviation community. In his most recent position as a field representative with\nDassault Falcon Jet, as well as in his previous positions as an aviation\nmechanic and pilot, Hilsmann was known for his integrity and pride in his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Applications for the 2021 Hank Hilsmann Memorial Scholarship will be available in Fall 2020.
