Multi-Platinum singer\/songwriter Dierks Bentley and renowned\nairshow performer Michael Goulian have teamed up with the Aircraft Owners and\nPilots Association to promote learning to fly and keeping pilots flying. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As AOPA\u2019s You Can Fly Champions<\/a>, Bentley and Goulian will work to inspire people from all walks of life to go up for their first flight and enjoy the experience of flying as much as they do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AOPA\u2019s You Can Fly Champions announcement comes on National\nAviation Day, which also coincides with Orville Wright\u2019s birthday. By sharing\ntheir enthusiasm for flight, Bentley and Goulian will engage with and attract\nstudent pilots, increase the diversity of the pilot population, and create a\ngreater appreciation for aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When \u201cyou\u2019re above the ground, all your biggest problems are\nso small. It\u2019s a feeling you can\u2019t find anywhere else,\u201d Bentley told AOPA\nduring a Pilot Lounge interview with Goulian. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m a big champion of aviation and what it allows you to\ndo,\u201d Bentley added. \u201cI think I do represent a large part of the population that\nhas to travel for work and I\u2019m hoping to shed light on what is possible in\naviation as far as quality of time and quantity of time with your family. It\u2019s\na huge honor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs far as You Can Fly goes, I think we need to expose\npeople to this great industry at a young age,\u201d said Goulian. \u201cWhen you get them\nin high school, they\u2019re old enough to start to know what they like and what\nthey want, and to expose them to that at that point, I think, is fantastic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pilots can watch Bentley and Goulian talk about their\npassion for aviation and follow them on social media. Better yet, share the\nvideos with nonpilots and invite them for a first flight! By sharing the You\nCan Fly message, more will be able to experience that bond and the love of\naviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
