To celebrate the return of the airline to\nEcuador, Quito&#8217;s Mariscal Sucre International Airport performed the traditional\nwater salute to the aircraft.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quito is the most visited place in Ecuador and has numerous\nchurches that hold treasures of culture and history from the colonial era. Its\nHistoric Center is the best preserved in the world and the country&#8217;s gastronomy\nis widely varied, in addition, to be the largest producer of fine aroma cocoa.\nIt also offers an important variety of extreme sports and outdoor activities at\nthe Choco Andino, a natural paradise, declared in 2018 as the seventh Biosphere\nReserve in the world by UNESCO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the contingency, Aeromexico transported to this\ndestination more than 27 tons of essential medical supplies to fight against\nthe pandemic. One of the flights was operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner,\nwhich for the first time flew to Quito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andrew O\u00c2\u00b4Brian, President and CEO of Corporacion\nQuiport-Quito International Airport, added: \u201cAeromexico is one of our most\nimportant strategic partners and the first new airline to start operations at\nthe then-new Quito airport in December 2013. Therefore, it is very important\nfor us to resume connectivity with Mexico City, a destination that has\nsignificant demand, and that will undoubtedly contribute to the economic\nrecovery of the city and the country. We are very pleased to welcome them again\nin Quito, now as the first Latin American airline to return to Ecuador. &#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Carla Cardenas, General Manager of Quito Tourism,\nadded: \u201cThe reopening of flights and air operations in Quito, lead the way for\nrecovery and the opportunity to provide the best experience to the traveler\nwhile visiting the Center of the World, with biosafety protocols that will\nallow feeling confidence and security from their arrival until the return to\ntheir country of origin\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, Giancarlo Mulinelli, Aeromexico Senior Vice\nPresident of Global Sales, said: \u201cWe thank the authorities of Ecuador and the\nAirport for their warm welcome. We will continue increasing our operations in\nMexico and the world, taking care of our customers with the highest standards\nin the industry through our Health and Sanitization Management System\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aeromexico reaffirms its commitment to increase operations,\nresume destinations, and increase frequencies gradually and safely.
