{"id":16117,"date":"2020-07-28T10:56:00","date_gmt":"2020-07-28T10:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=16117"},"modified":"2020-07-28T10:56:02","modified_gmt":"2020-07-28T10:56:02","slug":"faa-administrator-dickson-to-address-nbaa-virtual-business-aviation-town-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/national-news\/faa-administrator-dickson-to-address-nbaa-virtual-business-aviation-town-hall\/%20","title":{"rendered":"FAA Administrator Dickson to Address NBAA Virtual Business Aviation Town Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) announced that\nFederal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator Steve Dickson will\nparticipate in a Virtual Business Aviation Town Hall, to be held next week, at\n1 p.m. (EDT) Tuesday, Aug. 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"180\" height=\"240\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Steve-Dickson-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16118\"\/><figcaption><em>Steve Dickson<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Dickson will join NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen in\ndiscussing operational and safety issues important to the business aviation\ncommunity, including the latest information about extensions to general\naviation pilot medicals and other requirements granted under Special Federal\nAviation Regulation (SFAR) 118. The forum will also cover the agency\u2019s recent\nnotice of proposed rulemaking affecting the pilot records database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conversation will also touch upon ongoing efforts to\nbolster the nation\u2019s aviation workforce; the continued transition to a Next\nGeneration (aviation system; the integration of Advanced Air Mobility vehicles\nand other technologies into the national airspace; ongoing government-industry\nefforts to build upon the industry\u2019s continually improving safety record; the\nimpact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the aviation industry and other issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hour-long online town hall event will include ample time\nfor audience questions, offering an important opportunity for business aviation\nstakeholders to engage directly with the FAA and the association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am pleased to welcome Administrator Dickson to this\ninteractive discussion, in which we\u2019ll cover some of the most important\nconcerns for business aviation, during this COVID-19 moment and beyond,\u201d Bolen\nsaid. \u201cWe appreciate the administrator\u2019s continued engagement as we confront a\nunique and highly challenging situation for government and industry alike.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dickson first announced his intention to approve SFAR 118,\nduring an opening address at the start of the 2020 Business Aviation Safety\nSummit (BASS), jointly sponsored by NBAA and the Flight Safety Foundation. Last\nyear, Dickson was a featured speaker at NBAA\u2019s Business Aviation Convention\n&amp; Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas, NV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As head of the FAA, Dickson oversees a $17.62 billion-dollar\nbudget and nearly 45,000 employees, as well as the ongoing, multibillion-dollar\nNext Generation (\u201cNextGen\u201d) air traffic control modernization.
