The building pays a\ntribute to the history of the airport with the brick layout transitioning into\nthe modern building-look detailed with the grey metal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"320\" height=\"164\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Warrenton-Fauquier-a.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15976\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Warrenton-Fauquier-a.jpg 320w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Warrenton-Fauquier-a-300x154.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><figcaption><em>Photos by Kim Wells,  PR Specialist with DOAV.  <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The terminal is very pilot and aviation friendly, just like it always has been, but now has more room to accommodate the growing airport. Aviation d\u00e9cor tells the story of past events, staff, pilots and aircraft. The Virginia Department of Aviation (DOAV) is included on the family wall of photos with a picture that shows Sarah Patton, a local pilot and Potomac TRACON air traffic controller, visiting John Hart and Kim Wells at the DOAV trailer at Sun n\u2019 Fun last year. Very tall windows are placed all around the building for a beautiful view of the active runway. There is even a balcony on the second floor, which provides a perfect location for plane spotting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Warrenton-Fauquier.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15977\" width=\"293\" height=\"195\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Warrenton-Fauquier.jpg 320w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Warrenton-Fauquier-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 293px) 100vw, 293px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Locals stop in to view the airplanes and talk aviation\nwith the staff, and this helps keep a sense of community in Midland, Virginia,\nespecially during the pandemic. The airport manager, Dave Darrah, is very\nappreciative of all the sponsors, tenants, traffic and fuel purchases that\ncontinue to help the airport and aviation community grow.
