The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) and NATA\nCompliance Services (NATACS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)\nwith the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Transportation\n(DOT) in support of the Blue Lightning Initiative (BLI). Through this\npartnership, NATA and NATACS agree to educate the general aviation community\nabout the pervasiveness of human trafficking, how to detect it, and the methods\nof elimination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAviation is one of the many vehicles used to traffic\nvictims,\u201d said Shirley Negri, NATACS COO. \u201cWe\u2019re taking action. Through this\npartnership, our team is committed to distribute materials, educate via its\nAviation Security Platform on NATA.aero, and promote awareness about this\nglobal criminal activity.\u201d The BLI has provided training to more than 100,000\npeople within the aviation industry, giving them the tools to identify\nindicators of trafficking and report suspected trafficking situations to the\nproper authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
