{"id":15825,"date":"2020-06-27T15:01:53","date_gmt":"2020-06-27T15:01:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=15825"},"modified":"2020-06-27T15:01:55","modified_gmt":"2020-06-27T15:01:55","slug":"nata-announces-2020-2021-board-of-directors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/national-news\/nata-announces-2020-2021-board-of-directors\/%20","title":{"rendered":"NATA Announces 2020-2021 Board of Directors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On June 23rd during its first-ever virtual Annual Meeting,\nthe National Air Transportation Association (NATA) announced changes to its\nBoard of Directors. Curt Castagna, President and CEO of Aeroplex\/Aerolease\nGroup (Long Beach, CA), was reelected to serve an additional term, as well as\nextending his service as Chairman by one year. Larry Wade, President of Golden\nIsles Aviation, has also been reelected to the Board for a second term. Clive\nLowe, the Senior Vice President of Business Development for Atlantic Aviation\n(Arlington, VA) will continue in his appointed role as Vice Chair for one\nadditional year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two Members left the Board after their terms came to an end.\nDennis Fox, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations and Director of Training\nfor Executive Jet Management, has served on the Board since June of 2017. Guy\nHill, CEO of Hill Aircraft and Leasing Corporation, is leaving the Board after\nhaving served two terms, beginning in April of 2014. During his terms, Guy Hill\nacted as Treasurer to the Board. Finally, Don Haloburdo had left the Board\nfollowing his departure from Jet Aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NATA President &amp; CEO Tim Obitts stated, \u201cWe are pleased\nto have Curt Castagna serve as Board Chairman for another year. The past year has\nheld many changes for NATA and the business aviation community as a whole.\nDuring these trying times, maintaining a sense of continuity is critical to\nmoving forward in a positive direction.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Newly appointed to the Board for a term of three years are David\nBest, Senior Vice President, Jet Aviation; Joe Gibney, Chief Operating Officer,\nTAC Air; Josh Hochberg, President, Sonoma Jet Center; and John King, President,\nSolairus Aviation. Their bios and headshots are available below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNATA is excited to appoint these new Board members who have\nbeen great supporters of the Association for many years. With over twenty years industry experience\nhe has worked across the world with experience in both the business aviation\nand commercial aviation sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to his role at Jet Aviation David serves on\nthe Board of National Air Transportation Association and Leadership Council of\nthe National Business Aviation Association, has also served as Vice Chairman\nAsian Business Aviation Association and on the Governing Board of the\nInternational Business Aviation Council. David has worked and lived in Europe,\nAsia and the USA throughout his business career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously he served as Chief Commercial Officer based in\nthe USA, and was Managing Director Europe, Middle East and Africa for a large\nFBO chain. In\nthat role, Joe oversees the aviation interests of The Arnold Companies, which\nincludes the 15 location TAC Air FBO chain as well as Keystone Aviation, a Salt\nLake City based aircraft charter\/management and MRO business with a fleet of 25\nturbine aircraft. The Arnold Companies is a Dallas-based family business with\ninterests in both the aviation and energy sectors and has been ranked by Forbes\nmagazine as one of the top private companies in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to joining TAC, Joe spent nearly 20 years at BBA\nAviation, including at FBO brand Signature Flight Support and airline refueling\n&amp; ground handling company Aircraft Service International Group. Joe\u2019s\ncareer has spanned executive and operational leadership, sales, marketing,\nfinance and M&amp;A. He\u2019s overseen teams of up to 2,000 employees and\nsuccessfully led large, geographically disparate organizations both in the US\nand overseas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joe grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and attended the\nUniversity of Tennessee as an undergraduate. He holds an MBA from Embry-Riddle\nAeronautical University in Daytona Beach. Joe and his wife Patty have been\nmarried for more than 20 years and have two teenage children together. Joe is\nan avid runner and has competed in nearly a dozen marathons and half marathons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Joshua E. Josh\nowns and operates Sonoma Jet Center, a full service FBO at the Charles M.\nSchulz \u2013 Sonoma County Airport in Santa Rosa, CA, as well as Hochberg Aviation\nManagement LLC, the operator of Carlsbad Jet Center in Carlsbad, CA. Josh is\nChairman of the NATA Aviation Business Committee, Young Eagles Coordinator and\nBoard Member for EAA Chapter 124, and founding member of the North Bay Disaster\nArea Response Team. He and his companies are Aviation Partners for Canine\nCompanions for Independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Josh started flight training at 14, soloed on his 16th\nbirthday, and his first job was a high school summer internship at the FAA in\nAFS-800. He has worked at the MITRE Corporation\u2019s Center for Advanced Aviation\nSystem Development (CAASD), Northwest Airlines, United Airlines, and as an\nattorney at Reed Smith, LLP, representing manufacturers of aircraft and\naircraft components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Josh earned a BS from the George Washington University, a\nMS in Transportation from Northwestern University, and a JD from Southern\nMethodist University. He holds an ATP Certificate and has over 4,500 hours of\nflight experience. His Cessna 340 is his daily driver. Mr. King became\nPresident of Solairus Aviation is 2009 overseeing the management team,\ndirecting all aspects of sales, marketing, and operations. He also oversees the\nimplementation of strategic business and\/or operational plans, projects,\nprograms, and systems. Prior to his role as President, King played an integral\nrole as CFO of the former Sunset Aviation for 4 years. Additionally, King is a\ncommercial pilot and has been involved with multiple aviation endeavors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. King graduated from the University of San Francisco\nin 1975 with a degree in computer science.
