{"id":15792,"date":"2020-06-23T11:43:39","date_gmt":"2020-06-23T11:43:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=15792"},"modified":"2020-06-23T11:43:41","modified_gmt":"2020-06-23T11:43:41","slug":"nata-applauds-provision-in-house-infrastructure-package-supporting-sustainable-jet-fuel-programs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/district-of-columbia\/nata-applauds-provision-in-house-infrastructure-package-supporting-sustainable-jet-fuel-programs\/%20","title":{"rendered":"NATA Applauds Provision in House Infrastructure Package Supporting Sustainable Jet Fuel Programs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) applauded\nthe inclusion of language in H.R. 2, \u201cThe Moving Forward Act,\u201d which supports\nthe industry\u2019s goal to increase the use of sustainable aviation fuels in\nbusiness aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bill authorizes $5,000,000 annually through 2025, to be\nappropriated from the general fund of the Treasury to be used exclusively for\nwork performed by the Center of Excellence for Alternative Jet Fuels and\nEnvironment, including toward \u201cprograms to assess and reduce the environmental\nimpacts of aviation and to improve the health and quality of life of\nindividuals living in and around airport communities.\u201d The FAA will oversee the\ndistribution of the funds. The bill also authorizes $30 million per year for\nthe study and development of sustainable aviation fuels over the same period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe aviation business community is at the forefront of the\ntransition to sustainable fuels and is taking proactive measures towards\nbuilding a sustainable future. NATA is pleased to be a part of an industry\ncoalition formed in part to highlight sustainable aviation fuels\u2019 viability,\nsafety, and benefit toward aviation-emissions reduction in business aviation\nand assist our members in demonstrating their sustainability commitment. We\nbelieve that provisions like these that affirm and assist our collective\nefforts will help foster the impactful breakthroughs and long-term progress our\nindustry is working to contribute through innovation, collaboration, and education,\u201d\nstated NATA President and CEO Timothy Obitts. \u201cWe thank Transportation and\nInfrastructure Chairman Peter A.
