Due to impacts from\nthe COVID-19 pandemic, these numbers amount to a statewide decline of 86% of\nthe normal passenger volume that the airports were previously expected to see\nduring this month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airline passenger levels in North Dakota and throughout the\nrest of the country are beginning to slowly rise from the historically low\npassenger numbers that were previously seen in April. In that month, North\nDakota airports experienced approximately 5,000 passengers or a statewide\ndecline of 95% from the normally expected passenger volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an encouraging sign to see that our airline passenger\nnumbers are beginning to rise from the historically low numbers that our state\nand nation recently experienced in April.\u201d stated Kyle Wanner, Executive\nDirector of the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission.&nbsp; \u201cWe hope that this trend continues as\neconomic activity increases and restrictions throughout the country are lifted.&nbsp; The safety of all passengers and workers\ncontinues to remain a top priority and the flying public can be assured that\nextra sanitary precautions are being taken so that a safe environment is being\npromoted within the airport and on board the aircraft.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>North Dakota\u2019s eight commercial service airports during the month of May posted a total of 13,474 passengers boardings.
