(ACE), home of the\nannual SUN &#8216;n FUN Aerospace Expo, awarded $110,000 in college scholarships to\neight (8) top performing Central Florida Aerospace Academy (CFAA) graduates\nfrom the Class of 2020 at the Ceremony of Success event held June 11th at the\nFlorida Air Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Central Florida Aerospace Academy (CFAA) is a Polk County\nPubic School career academy designated to Kathleen High School. CFAA is located\non the SUN &#8216;n FUN Expo Campus and has a unique partnership with the Aerospace\nCenter for Excellence through the Central Florida Aerospace Academy Foundation.\nDonors such as James C. Ray Foundation, and the events held throughout the year\non the SUN &#8216;n FUN Expo Campus including the annual SUN &#8216;n FUN Aerospace Expo,\nfund ACE&#8217;s youth programs and scholarships. The Ceremony of Success is an\nexample of the commitment these organizations have in ensuring the ability for\ntop performing students to continue their pursuit of aerospace education in\npost-secondary institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Top Gun Citation of Merit is presented to the graduating\nSenior student who consistently demonstrated outstanding scholastic\naccomplishment, exemplary character and motivating leadership during their\ntenure at CFAA. The Top Gun honoree is one who has been an example to others in\nservice to their community and work ethic defining them as an influential\nmoving force in the future of the aerospace industry by supporting the\nAerospace Center for Excellence&#8217;s mission of &#8220;Engage, Educate and\nAccelerate the next generation of aerospace professionals&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year&#8217;s recipient, Sean Stolz, had all the check marks\nfor this recognition. A James C. Ray Scholarship flight training recipient,\nSean earned his single and multi-engine certificates, is the Vice-President of\nthe Lakeland Aero Club, Ambassador for CFAA, and graduated in the top 5% of his\nclass. In addition to earning the Top Gun award, Sean was also the recipient of\nthe &#8220;Catshot Award&#8221; referring to the catapult on an aircraft carrier\nthat launches an F-16 off an aircraft carrier. The CFAA Foundation thanks the\ngenerous donations of Bill and Judy Young for the $5,000 Top Gun Citation of\nMerit Scholarship and an anonymous donor for the $5,000 Catshot Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As this year&#8217;s Top Gun recipient, Sean had the honor of\nunveiling his name which is now affixed on the F-14 Tomcat fighter jet outside\nof the Florida Air Museum on the SUN &#8216;n FUN Expo Campus for the next year. This\nhonor recognizes a Top Gun&#8217;s accomplishment and serves as inspiration for the\nunderclassmen of CFAA whose High School resides across the street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sean Stolz unveils his name on the F-14 Tomcat recognizing\nhim as this year&#8217;s Top Gun Citation of Merit award winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ceremony of Success also awarded James C. Ray Continuing\nEducation Scholarships to 8 deserving students. These scholarships are\nrenewable each year if the student continues to excel in their pursuit of a\ncollege degree. Those attending an institution within Polk County, Florida are\neligible for a $5,000 scholarship and outside of the county are eligible for\n$2,500. The total 4-year value of these awards is $100,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations to the following CFAA Class of 2020 students\non receiving a James C. Ray Continuing Education Scholarships:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Noel Bell &#8211; $5,000 &#8211; will be attending\nSoutheastern University majoring in Aviation Management with aspirations of\njoining NASA as an astronaut.<\/li><li>Isaac Castellanos &#8211; $5,000 &#8211; will be attending\nPolk State College majoring in Aerospace Science.<\/li><li>Christopher Lopez &#8211; $2,500 &#8211; will be attending\nUniversity of FL to major in Aerospace Engineering. Christopher is the first\nCFAA student to have earn a Certified SolidWorks Professional Certification for\nMechanical Design.<\/li><li>Sean Stoltz &#8211; $2,500 &#8211; will be attending Embry\nRiddle Aeronautical University majoring in Aviation Meteorology and pursuing an\nAirframe and Powerplant Certification.<\/li><li>Jonathan Fortin &#8211; $2,500 &#8211; will be attending Embry\nRiddle Aeronautical University to major in Aerospace Science.<\/li><li>Colin Jimenez $2,500 &#8211; currently completing his\nprivate pilot certificate.<\/li><li>Autumn Richarz $2,500 &#8211; will be attending Embry\nRiddle Aeronautical University majoring in Aeronautical Science with\naspirations of becoming a commercial pilot.<\/li><li>Tyler Wood $2,500 &#8211; will be attending Embry\nRiddle Aeronautical University majoring in Aeronautical Science with\naspirations of becoming a military pilot.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Aerospace Center for Excellence, Inc.
