{"id":15624,"date":"2020-06-02T12:03:47","date_gmt":"2020-06-02T12:03:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=15624"},"modified":"2020-06-02T12:03:48","modified_gmt":"2020-06-02T12:03:48","slug":"a4a-applauds-icao-recommendations-for-restart-and-recovery-of-global-air-travel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/international-news\/a4a-applauds-icao-recommendations-for-restart-and-recovery-of-global-air-travel\/%20","title":{"rendered":"A4A Applauds ICAO Recommendations for Restart and Recovery of Global Air Travel"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Airlines for America (A4A) has applauded newly released\nrecommendations from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a\nUnited Nations agency, for the safe, sustainable and secure restart and\nrecovery of global air travel in the wake of the unprecedented COVID-19\npandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTake-off: Guidance for Air Travel through the COVID-19\nPublic Health Crisis,\u201d a report from ICAO\u2019s Council Aviation Recovery Task\nForce (CART), was produced with input from more than a dozen different\ncountries and numerous regional and international organizations. It provides a\nglobal framework for enabling the safe, phased return of domestic and\ninternational aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airlines connect the world, and we will reconnect the world\nas it recovers from the coronavirus pandemic. A4A applauds ICAO\u2019s quick work to\nidentify these measures to further enhance public health in the aviation\nsector. They build on the measures already put in place by U.S. and other\nairlines, and they will be an important part of the global recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report recommends risk-mitigation measures for all\nphases of passenger and cargo air travel, from arriving at the terminal to\nboarding the aircraft to leaving the baggage claim area. They include measures\nsuch as cleaning and disinfection, physical distancing, health screenings and\nmore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>U.S. airlines have already implemented intensive cleaning\nprotocols, including electrostatic cleaning and fogging procedures, and a host\nof procedures like back-to-front boarding and adjusting food and beverage\nservices to help allow for distancing between people.
