We are humbled to accept\nthis generous gift as it enables us to continue our foundational promise that\nfamilies never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or\nfood, because all they should worry about is helping their child live.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Let Good Take Flight<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>American Airlines is committed to caring for people on\nlife\u2019s journey and remains dedicated to addressing the needs of different\ncommunities affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In cooperation\nwith its generous customers, American has raised more than $3 million to\nsupport the American Red Cross and its volunteers who are on the frontlines of\nthe COVID-19 pandemic. Supply kits have been provided to the Mount Sinai\nHospital in New York City; Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston; and St. Jude\nChildren\u2019s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, to support medical\nprofessionals on the frontlines. American has provided thousands of care\npackages to military bases to be shared with troops who are quarantined after\nreturning from deployment. As a result of excess inventory due to a reduced\nflying schedule, American has donated more than 200 tons of food to food banks\nglobally. American team members at multiple locations, including Dallas Fort\nWorth International Airport (DFW), Miami International Airport (MIA), Frankfurt\nam Main Airport (FRA) and Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), are sewing masks\nfor their coworkers and members of the community. The airline also worked with\nthe U.S. Department of State to operate 88 repatriation flights to bring more\nthan 8,000 U.S. citizens home from abroad.
