Douglass<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Douglass, a Florida resident, has direct ties to The\nBahamas over more than three generations and has grown up in aviation. He is\nthe grandson of Juan Trippe, the founder of Pan American World Airways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMr. William A. Douglass is an excellent candidate for\nAmbassador to the Bahamas. He is a steadfast proponent of business aviation and\nknowledgeable of its vast benefits in promoting tourism, fulfilling critical\nservices, and aiding in emergency response efforts,\u201d stated NATA President and\nCEO Timothy Obitts. \u201cI have known Mr. Douglass for nearly two decades as a\nfriend. When approved by the Senate, NATA looks forward to working with Mr.\nDouglass to further strengthen the connections between the U.S. and the\nBahamas, particularly in supporting the essential services provided by NATA\u2019s\naviation business members both in the United States and in the Bahamas. NATA\nworked with Mr. Douglass during the relief efforts of Hurricane Dorian, wherein\nmany aviation businesses in the United States volunteered and provided\ninstrumental relief, life savings missions, and support to the people of the\nBahamas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Douglass is an entrepreneur and philanthropist, who\nco-founded the investment firm K2 Advisors in 1994, now part of Franklin\nTempleton Advisors. He was instrumental in evacuation missions following\nHurricane Dorian and assisting in efforts to rebuild The Bahamas in the\naftermath of the disaster.
