WRAL is joining the North Carolina Healthcare Association (NCHA) and the <a href=\"http:\/\/banditflightteam.com\/\">Bandit Flight Team<\/a> for a special event salute to the Triangle&#8217;s healthcare heroes on Thursday, May 14. On that date beginning at 7 p.m., the Bandit Flight Team will fly over seven area hospitals, carefully coordinated so that hospital workers have the opportunity to see the display. WRAL&#8217;s 7 p.m. News will be dedicated to covering the event on the ground and from Sky 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jim-Kilpatrick-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15467\" width=\"139\" height=\"174\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jim-Kilpatrick-819x1024.jpg 819w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jim-Kilpatrick-240x300.jpg 240w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jim-Kilpatrick.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 139px) 100vw, 139px\" \/><figcaption><em>Jim Kilpatrick<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are very grateful for the dedication and sacrifice of\nour frontline healthcare providers,&#8221; says Jim Kilpatrick, Lead Pilot of\nthe Bandit Flight Team. &#8220;The flyover is a visual way to say thank you, but\nas we turn on our smoke system to say thank you, we are not representing just\nus, we are saying thank you for the entire community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The flight route takes the Bandit Flight Team from the\nWRAL Studios on Western Blvd. on a path that passes over the following\nhospitals in this order:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>WakeMed Raleigh<\/li><li>Duke Raleigh<\/li><li>UNC Rex<\/li><li>WakeMed Cary<\/li><li>Duke University Hospital<\/li><li>UNC Medical Center<\/li><li>Duke Regional<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/route-DMID1-5mqg02q8b-640x360.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15468\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/route-DMID1-5mqg02q8b-640x360.jpg 640w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/route-DMID1-5mqg02q8b-640x360-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>People all along the route are invited to step outside and watch the planes fly over as they travel to each destination. Watch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wral.com\/frontline-flyover-a-salute-to-healthcare-heroes\/19085385\/\">WRAL News<\/a> in the days leading up to the event for specific details about the route, timing, and tune-in information for the live coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWRAL is proud to partner with the Bandit Flight Team and\nNCHA to help spotlight the tireless work of frontline healthcare workers,&#8221;\nsaid Joel Davis, Vice President and General Manager of WRAL\/FOX 50. &#8220;We\nhope that both the healthcare teams watching from hospitals and the families\nwatching from home are able to enjoy this moment together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bandit-Flight-Team-Aerial-Shot-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15469\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The route and timing of the flyover were coordinated with the North Carolina Healthcare Association.
