Each year the Tennessee Aeronautics Commission and TDOT\nAeronautics Division have the privilege to recognize the hard work and efforts\nof an airport who stands out above the rest. This year, the Tennessee\nAeronautics Commission honored Dyersburg Regional Airport as the Airport of the\nYear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This award recognizes the airport that demonstrated the best\nlevel of achievement for airport operations, customer service, safety, and\npositive promotion of aviation for the previous calendar year in the State of\nTennessee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A major component of Dyersburg\u2019s transportation system is\ntheir regional airport, noted Michelle Frazier, director of the Tennessee\nAeronautics Division. With a 5,700\u2019 runway, the airport accommodates almost\n8,000 aircraft operations per year and is home to 20 based aircraft. The\nDyersburg Regional Airport operates under an unconditional license issued by\nthe Tennessee Department of Transportation. The Airport Authority places safety\nas their number one priority and takes an active role in the Airport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
An award announcement by the Division referenced the airport\u2019s\nrecent success in removing their 20:1 approach obstructions and closing their\ncrosswind runway, just a couple of examples of the great work they do to\nprovide safety for the pilots and passengers. The announcement went on to say Dyersburg\nRegional is second to none for service, hospitality, and well-kept facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
