Centennial College and Diamond Aircraft Industries of\nLondon, Ontario have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on\nactivities of mutual benefit, including program development, student work\nplacements and research and innovation projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As Ontario’s first public college, Centennial has a long\nhistory of educating aircraft and avionics technicians accredited by Transport\nCanada. Diamond Aircraft is a global leader in the general aviation market with\nits product line of modern, fuel-efficient aircraft designed for specific\npersonal and training applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“As a start, work is underway in creating work co-op,\nplacement and capstone opportunities with Diamond Aircraft for students in\nselect Centennial programs,” said Dr. Rahim Karim, Associate Vice\nPresident, Partnerships, Pathways and Internationalization at Centennial\nCollege. “As well, we are reviewing programming and graduate needs for\nDiamond to build their talent pipeline.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Collaborative activities between the two organizations may\ninclude program and curriculum development; technical training; staff, faculty\nand student placements; research and innovation opportunities; donations of\nequipment or services in kind; and international engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
