{"id":15191,"date":"2020-04-07T17:03:17","date_gmt":"2020-04-07T17:03:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=15191"},"modified":"2020-04-07T17:03:19","modified_gmt":"2020-04-07T17:03:19","slug":"aiaa-announces-addition-of-virtual-component-to-all-aiaa-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/aviation-education\/aiaa-announces-addition-of-virtual-component-to-all-aiaa-events\/%20","title":{"rendered":"AIAA Announces Addition of Virtual Component to All AIAA Events"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics\n(AIAA), the world\u2019s leading professional society dedicated to the advancement\nof the entire aerospace community, announced today that all of its events\nmoving forward will offer attendees and industry partners the added benefit of participating\nonline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Annually, AIAA brings together more than 10,000 engineers,\nresearchers, business leaders, investors, national security officials,\npolicymakers, and journalists across its events portfolio. The rapid impact of\nthe coronavirus pandemic on travel restrictions and event cancellations in 2020\naccelerated AIAA\u2019s transition to a hybrid live- and virtual-event model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor our civilization to thrive on this planet and beyond,\nthe advancement of aerospace research and commerce must be constant,\u201d said Dan\nDumbacher, AIAA executive director. \u201cBy investing in high-quality virtual event\nexperiences for the aerospace community, we\u2019re making sure there will always be\na platform for technical science to be presented and debated, informed policy\nand economic discussions, and a fertile marketplace for business.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The additional virtual event capability will expand the\norganization\u2019s reach not only to more members of the aerospace industry, but\nalso to adjacent communities and industries, such as construction, mining,\nautomotive, healthcare, retail, and logistics, who may not be as familiar with\nthe mission of AIAA and its members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis new online solution for attending and sponsoring\nmeetings will spur innovation because it will allow more of our members, as\nwell as those who might not otherwise engage with AIAA, to do so in a\nconvenient and cost-effective way,\u201d Dumbacher said. \u201cWe are excited about the\nprospect of this innovation bringing fresh thinking and nontraditional voices\ninto the conversation with our members of the aerospace community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To date, 10 AIAA events have been cancelled or rescheduled\nin 2020 because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
