Piper Aircraft, Inc. announced that it will be making\nprotective gear to help support the growing needs of the Cleveland Clinic\nIndian River Hospital. Additionally, Piper Aircraft will be donating over 1300\n3M, N95 approved masks to the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Manufacturing Engineering team at Piper Aircraft has\nbeen following the growing demand and resulting shortage of PPE (personal\nprotective equipment) and has been looking for ways to support the need.\nEarlier this week, the team designed a prototype face shield with off-the shelf\nmaterials such as: plastic, industrial tape, foam and elastic. With approval of\nthe prototype, the team set out to source the necessary materials from\nwholesale suppliers and create a manufacturing line within the Piper factory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With a designated production area in place, the team will\nbegin making face shields this week for use by medical personnel. Given the\ncurrent supply of materials and labor, Piper has the ability to produce\nthousands of face shields daily to help support the current demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a\nteam, we can make a difference for people in need and directly support those\nfighting the battle on the front lines of this unprecedented crisis.
