{"id":15054,"date":"2020-03-16T12:15:30","date_gmt":"2020-03-16T12:15:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=15054"},"modified":"2020-03-16T12:19:29","modified_gmt":"2020-03-16T12:19:29","slug":"ehang-expands-in-europe-with-first-uam-program-in-seville-spain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/international-news\/ehang-expands-in-europe-with-first-uam-program-in-seville-spain\/%20","title":{"rendered":"EHang Expands in Europe with First UAM Program in Seville, Spain"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>EHang Holdings Limited has announced that the company\nentered into a cooperation agreement with the city government of Seville, Spain\nto execute the first Urban Air Mobility (UAM) pilot program in Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement specifies that EHang will work with the\nSeville government to develop the urban air mobility including passenger\ntransportation, air logistics and command and control platforms in the city.\nThe city will also collaborate on applications for permission to conduct test\nflights, in accordance with Spanish and European legislation, and will\ncoordinate with EHang in the planning of flight routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, EHang will perform an aerial light show to\ncelebrate the 500th anniversary of Ferdinand Magellan\u2019s voyage around the\nworld, which started in Seville. EHang is honored to partner with Seville in\ncelebrating its place in the history of exploration and looks forward to\nworking with Seville to make real a new phase in transportation technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seville Mayor Juan Espadas Cejas commented, \u201cEstablishing\nthe partnership with EHang, one of the world&#8217;s leading UAM enterprises, is a\ngreat opportunity for Seville. Our city has a rich legacy in European aviation,\nwhich we believe can promote EHang\u2019s AAV tests, operations, and permitting\napplications both in Spain and Europe. Congestion in the EU costs nearly EUR 100 billion every year, accounting for 1% of the EU&#8217;s annual GDP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a frontrunner in UAM development in Spain, Seville joined\nthe UAM Initiative Cities Community launched in 2017 by the EU&#8217;s EIP-SCC\n(European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities) project to\npromote the transformation of urban three-dimensional transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent years, UAM has emerged as an efficient and\neco-friendly solution for urban transport. It not only provides a convenient\nway to transport people and cargo, could also create more than 100,000 jobs for\nthe European Union, according to EIP-SCC\u2019s report on urban air mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a pioneer and leader in the field of UAM, EHang is\ndriving the development of a global UAM industry.
