The N.C.\nDepartment of Transportation wants to help those organizations learn how to\nsafely and effectively leverage this technology into their operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve this, NCDOT is bringing back a series of drone workshops for government and commercial operators. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/drone-workshop-for-public-safety-commercial-and-government-operators-south-piedmont-cc-tickets-94665020625?utm-medium=discovery&amp;utm-campaign=social&amp;utm-content=attendeeshare&amp;aff=escb&amp;utm-source=cp&amp;utm-term=listing\">first workshop of 2020<\/a> will take place on April 9 on the campus of South Piedmont Community College in Monroe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop is hosted by NCDOT\u2019s Division of Aviation\nUnmanned Aircraft Systems Program office. State and local government personnel\nwho are interested in learning about this technology are encouraged to attend.\nLocal commercial drone operators are also invited to attend. Nearly 1,000 North\nCarolinians attended the previous series of workshops, held from 2017-18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDrones are becoming a normal part of day-to-day operations\nof many public and private organizations, said Basil Yap, UAS Program Manager\nfor NCDOT.&nbsp; \u201cWe want to help these groups\nobtain an understanding of real-world applications for drone technology, and\nwhat it takes to safely and effectively implement drones into their\noperations.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Space is limited, so prospective attendees should <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/drone-workshop-for-public-safety-commercial-and-government-operators-south-piedmont-cc-tickets-94665020625?utm-medium=discovery&amp;utm-campaign=social&amp;utm-content=attendeeshare&amp;aff=escb&amp;utm-source=cp&amp;utm-term=listing\">register early<\/a>.
