The airline says\nit will bolster network resiliency and reduce hurricane and tropical storm risk\nby bringing more than 240 Team Members from its Operational Control Center\n(OCC) in Miramar, Fla., to a nearly 49,000-square-foot facility in Williamson\nCounty, Tenn. The transition is scheduled to be completed by early 2021, and\nSpirit also plans to add nearly 100 more positions at the OCC over the next\nfive years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/20191029_172307edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14865\" width=\"378\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/20191029_172307edit.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/20191029_172307edit-300x171.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 378px) 100vw, 378px\" \/><figcaption><em>Spirit Airlines in Nashville. Bill Lee. \u201cLast year, Tennessee was for the first time named the number\none best fiscally managed state in the country, and we are proud to highlight\nthis ranking as we continue to recruit companies from around the globe to do\nbusiness in the Volunteer State.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The OCC controls round-the-clock flight operations for more\nthan 650 flights each day across the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean.\nTeam Members are responsible for flight dispatch, crew scheduling, maintenance\ncontrol, aircraft routing, air traffic control coordination, Guest solutions\nand more. Spirit\u2019s operations team is instrumental in the airline\u2019s commitment\nto invest in the Guest experience and deliver the Best Value in the Sky. Spirit\nsecured industry acclaim as the country&#8217;s most on-time Low Cost Airline by\nFlight Global, as well as international recognition as the Low-Cost Airline of\nthe Year at the CAPA World Aviation Summit and Air Transport World&#8217;s Value\nAirline of the Year. Spirit\u2019s OCC team efforts have helped the airline achieve\namong the best on-time performance for the past two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Music City came out on top in a nationwide search due to\nits geographic location, business climate and growing aviation sector. Spirit\nstarted Nashville service in October 2019 with new nonstop flights to\nBaltimore\/Washington (BWI), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Las Vegas (LAS), New Orleans\n(MSY), Orlando (MCO) and Tampa (TPA). Soon, Nashville gets even More Go with\nthe upcoming launch of nonstop flights to Austin (AUS), Newark (EWR), Los\nAngeles (LAX) and Cancun (CUN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 700 of Spirit\u2019s Miramar-based Team Members will\nmove into the airline\u2019s new corporate headquarters scheduled to open near the\nFort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in 2022. The airline also plans\nto add an additional 225 positions at the new HQ to support Spirit\u2019s expanding\ndomestic and international operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The OCC move coincides with Spirit\u2019s plan to double its\nall-Airbus fleet to about 300 aircraft over the next five years.
