{"id":14735,"date":"2020-02-03T19:17:15","date_gmt":"2020-02-03T19:17:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=14735"},"modified":"2020-02-03T19:17:16","modified_gmt":"2020-02-03T19:17:16","slug":"astro-in-full-development-of-new-modular-multi-platform-design","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/front-page-slider\/astro-in-full-development-of-new-modular-multi-platform-design\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Astro In Full Development of New Modular, Multi-platform Design"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Astro Aerospace, a company that is creating autonomous, eVTOL\n(Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) aerial vehicles and drones has announced\nthat they are in full development of their newest design, named \u201cALTA\u201d &#8211; a\nconcept built on the foundation of modularity and flexibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alta-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14737\" width=\"336\" height=\"189\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alta-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alta-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alta.jpg 1430w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 336px) 100vw, 336px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly after a very successful test flight series in 2018,\nAstro\u2019s engineering team went back to work making further improvements and\nmodifications to their Elroy model. Through this process they identified an\nopportunity to bring a new perspective to the eVTOL world, and in October 2018\nthe design of ALTA was born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ALTA platform includes a proprietary \u201cTop Frame\u201d design\nwhich flies solo and also connects to a series of specific use \u201cPods\u201d enabling\nthe modular system to perform in many different roles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few of the current Pods in development include Astro\u2019s new\nCockPit2 and CockPit4 (2 and 4) PassengerDrones as well as the CargoDrone\nmodel, \u201cOrbit\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These new modular series Pods, along with many other planned\n\u201cspecific use\u201d units will join the current \u201cElroy\u201d model in the proposed fleet\nof vehicles that Astro intends to bring to the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe see our new, modular ALTA design, in combination with a\nseries of \u201ccustom-use specific pods\u201d, helping private business, government\nagencies, as well as personal use (initially on private property) put into\nplace much sooner than that of the higher risk, commuting segment, due to the\nlengthy and complicated certification and flight path development processes in\nmajor cities\u201d, says Bruce Bent, Astro CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pending regulation and approvals, Astro anticipates\npre-sales available as soon as 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Astro Aerospace, a company that is creating autonomous, eVTOL (Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) aerial vehicles and drones has announced that they are in full development of their newest design, named \u201cALTA\u201d &#8211; a concept built on the foundation of modularity and flexibility.
