{"id":14694,"date":"2020-01-30T21:46:12","date_gmt":"2020-01-30T21:46:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=14694"},"modified":"2020-01-30T21:46:14","modified_gmt":"2020-01-30T21:46:14","slug":"kdot-announces-kansas-airport-improvement-projects-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/kansas\/kdot-announces-kansas-airport-improvement-projects-2\/%20","title":{"rendered":"KDOT Announces Kansas Airport Improvement Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Twenty-three projects have been selected for Kansas Airport\nImprovement Program (KAIP) funding for the purpose of planning, constructing or\nrehabilitating public use general aviation airports, according to the Kansas\nDepartment of Transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KAIP receives $5 million annually through the T-WORKS\ntransportation program and requires airport sponsors to share in the project\ncosts by paying a minimum of 5% of the total project. The KDOT\u2019s Division of\nAviation, which manages the program, considered 113 project applications this\nyear with a combined total project value of more than $27 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTransportation provides access to all things important in\nour lives and aviation is a particularly important mode of transportation for\nKansas industry,\u201d Julie Lorenz, Secretary of Transportation said. \u201cThese\nairport improvements are a few of the many important efforts to empower\naviation economic growth across our entire state.
