The decision will become final\nwithin the next 15 days unless a review is requested by CADE Commissioners. The\npartnership has now received unconditional clearance from every regulatory\njurisdiction with the exception of the European Commission, which continues to\nassess the deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This latest clearance is yet another endorsement of\nour partnership, which will bring greater competition to the regional jet\nmarketplace, better value for our customers and opportunities for our\nemployees,&#8221; said Marc Allen, Boeing&#8217;s president of Embraer Partnership\n&amp; Group Operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Brazil&#8217;s approval of the deal is a clear demonstration\nof the pro-competitive nature of our partnership,&#8221; said Francisco Gomes\nNeto, president and CEO of Embraer. &#8220;It will not only benefit our\ncustomers, but also allow the growth of Embraer and the Brazilian aeronautical\nindustry as a whole.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unconditional clearance has now been granted in Brazil,\nUnited States, China, Japan, South Africa, Montenegro, Colombia, and Kenya. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boeing and Embraer have been in discussion with the European\nCommission since late 2018, and continue to engage with the Commission as it\nproceeds through its assessment of the transaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We have been productively engaged with the Commission\nto demonstrate the pro-competitive nature of our planned partnership, and we\nlook forward to a positive outcome,&#8221; Boeing&#8217;s Allen said. &#8220;Given the\npositive endorsement we&#8217;ve seen from customers across Europe and the\nunconditional clearance we&#8217;ve received from every other regulator who has\nconsidered the transaction, we look forward to securing final approval for the\ntransaction as soon as possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The planned strategic partnership between Embraer and Boeing\ncomprises two joint ventures: one joint venture made up of the commercial\naircraft and services operations of Embraer (Boeing Brasil \u2013 Commercial) in\nwhich Boeing will own 80 percent and Embraer will hold 20 percent; and another\njoint venture to promote and develop markets for the multi-mission medium\nairlift C-390 Millennium (Boeing Embraer \u2013 Defense) in which Embraer will own a\n51 percent stake and Boeing will own the remaining 49 percent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Boeing and Embraer welcome the unconditional approval of their strategic partnership by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE)&#8217;s General-Superintendence (SG) in Brazil.
