Vexcel Imaging, a leader in aerial imagery data,\nlarge-format aerial cameras, and photogrammetry software, today signed a\ndefinitive agreement to acquire the imagery sourcing group from Verisk\u2019s Geomni\nbusiness. The acquisition will combine Geomni\u2019s imagery surveying and\ncontent-related teams and assets into Vexcel. Verisk will be a minority owner\nin Vexcel with full access to all aerial imagery libraries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The combination of Geomni\u2019s fleet of fixed-wing aircraft and\naerial operations, mapping business, and oblique aerial image library together\nwith Vexcel\u2019s sensor business and data program will create the world\u2019s leading\ngeospatial data library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Geomni\u2019s analytics team and assets will remain part of\nVerisk and continue to focus on world-class advanced analytics. The team will work\nclosely with Vexcel on a strategic road map and joint projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vexcel Imaging was founded in 1992. The company\u2019s highly\nsuccessful line of UltraCam systems was launched with the first UltraCam in\n2003. Vexcel is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado; operates an office in Graz,\nAustria; and will now have teams and operational hubs strategically located\nthroughout the United States and in Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vexcel maintains a strong partnership with the Geospatial\nIntelligence Center (GIC), an insurance industry consortium spearheaded by the\nNational Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), a nonprofit organization dedicated to\nfighting insurance fraud and crime, and powered by Vexcel\u2019s data program. The\nGIC empowers its member insurers to improve their decision making and risk\nmanagement by leveraging aerial imagery and data in visual tools and automated\nprocesses. The partnership will provide enhanced support to GIC member insurers\nin the form of additional flying and processing capabilities as well as access\nto the newly scaled and unified geospatial library and enhanced analytics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
