As Director, ICAO Liaison, Andy Meyer will direct the\noperations of the IBAC office in Montreal, co-located with ICAO\nHeadquarters. He will be IBAC’s\ndesignated representative to ICAO overall and will serve in particular as IBAC\nObserver on the Air Navigation Commission, the highest-level technical body at\nICAO. Meyer will also design the IBAC\nstrategy and approach to ICAO in coordination with the Director General, Kurt\nEdwards, as well as coordinate among the IBAC representatives at ICAO forums\nand expert groups, as well as make recommendations to Edwards regarding matters\nbefore ICAO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andy holds an Air Transport Pilot license and aviation\nqualifications as instructor pilot and CRM trainer with 9500 total flight\nhours. He has a degree in Natural Sciences, holds a Master of Science in Risk,\nCrisis and Disaster Management from the University of Leicester, has a\ncertificate in Cybersecurity from Harvard and is a researcher on social and\ncultural aspects of Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prior to joining ICAO, Andy acted as the Managing Director\nof the International Federation of Airline Pilots\u2019 Associations for two years.\nIn addition to his military career, Andy\u2019s business aviation and flight\noperations experience include instructor and pilot leadership roles with\nGulfstream and Execujet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2013, he joined ICAO\u2019s Integrated Safety Management\nSection at the organization\u2019s headquarters in Montreal, as resident operational\nsafety expert supporting the section\u2019s Safety Intelligence activities. Later, he started supporting the development\nof ICAO\u2019s newly established Safety Information Monitoring Service. In 2016,\nAndy assisted in the development of the ICAO Crises and Rapid Response Program,\nproviding support and research in the field of Risk, Crisis and Disaster\nManagement to the Program Manager. As of August 2017, as a direct result of the\nICAO General Assembly Resolution on addressing cybersecurity in civil aviation,\nhe was appointed as the ICAO Aviation Cybersecurity Officer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
