{"id":14620,"date":"2020-01-20T20:56:03","date_gmt":"2020-01-20T20:56:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=14620"},"modified":"2020-01-20T20:56:05","modified_gmt":"2020-01-20T20:56:05","slug":"airline-growth-allows-nd-communities-to-attract-and-retain-air-service-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/north-dakota\/airline-growth-allows-nd-communities-to-attract-and-retain-air-service-opportunities\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Airline Growth Allows ND Communities to Attract and Retain Air Service Opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>North Dakota\u2019s eight commercial service airports finished\ncalendar year 2019 with a statewide total of 1,191,569 passenger\nboardings.&nbsp; This is a growth of 108,452\npassengers or an 10% increase from 2018 numbers.&nbsp; This also results in the second busiest year\non record for North Dakota next to 2014, which occurred during the height of\nthe state\u2019s oil boom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019, the airports also saw 1,187,533 passenger\ndeplanements for a grand total of 2,379,102 passengers that traveled through\nthe commercial service terminal buildings in North Dakota over the past\nyear.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seven of the eight commercial service airports in the state\nsaw more passengers in 2019 than they did in 2018.&nbsp; The Bismarck, Devils Lake, and Fargo airports\nwere also able to announce that they had each posted their highest annual\nairline passenger count on record in calendar year 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The increased number of passengers throughout the state has\nallowed communities to attract and retain additional air service opportunities.\n10 non-stop destinations (of which three are seasonal) are currently available\nto connect North Dakota to the rest of the world.
