This development comes as the airline extends its\nlongstanding relationship with SITAONAIR for its AIRCOM\u00ae Cockpit Services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ACARS over IP service, using terrestrial cellular, is\ndelivered in partnership with Teledyne Controls and will be deployed across\nWizz Air\u2019s entire existing and future fleet. The enablement of automatic\nACARS-based reporting brings huge benefits for the airline, resulting in\nimproved aircraft movement control and more efficient turnaround at any\nairport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This deployment will complement SITAONAIR\u2019s existing Very\nHigh Frequency (VHF) ACARS radio network coverage and extend coverage to Wizz\nAir\u2019s entire operation. The service also brings enhanced resilience through the\ninteroperable use of cellular and ACARS networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional benefits of ACARS over IP include increased\nnetwork capacity, as well as faster and more cost-effective transmission of\ndata. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Konstantin Milarov, M.Sc., Technical Services Manager,\nWizz Air, comments: \u201cThe ability to extend our datalink coverage and implement\nautomatic ACARS-based reporting and processes is a huge benefit for Wizz Air.\nWe are pleased to be continuing our relationship with SITAONAIR and are\ndelighted to pioneer this with ACARS over IP services together. We will be able\nto move forward with better and more efficient aircraft timing reporting and\nconduct data transmissions across our entire network.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SITAONAIR is able to deliver the solution by integrating\nterrestrial cellular services into its core AIRCOM\u00ae datalink network, using\nTeledyne Controls\u2019 GroundLink\u00ae Comm+ system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Murry Skelton, Senior Director of Aircraft Solution\nStrategy, Teledyne Controls, says: \u201cOur partnership with SITAONAIR offers\nairline customers like Wizz Air a quick, easy upgrade option to enable secure\nACARS transfer while the aircraft is on the ground. We believe this can bring\nhuge benefit to airlines, as is being demonstrated by Wizz Air as a true\ninnovator in the area of aircraft communications.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the renewal, Wizz Air will further manage its\nair-to-ground communications with AIRCOM\u00ae FlightMessenger. The SITAONAIR\nsolution integrates and translates data into a format that can seamlessly feed\nin to any IT infrastructure, helping to improve efficiency and effectiveness.\nWith AIRCOM\u00ae FlightMessenger, Wizz Air will be able to easily extract key data\nfrom ACARS messages, and add data from other sources, into an\neasy-to-understand format for distribution by email or SMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SITAONAIR\u2019s AIRCOM\u00ae Product Manager, Euan Mitchell, adds:\n\u201cWe at SITAONAIR are thrilled to be developing our longstanding relationship\nwith Wizz Air and enabling the airline to become the first in Europe to adopt\nour pioneering ACARS over IP service, using terrestrial cellular.
