The other airports hosting two-day events are San Marcos,\nTexas (KHYI) on May 29 and 30, and Rochester, New York (KROC) on Sept. 11 and\n12. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/G-Januska0002edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14475\" width=\"130\" height=\"163\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/G-Januska0002edit.jpg 340w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/G-Januska0002edit-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 130px) 100vw, 130px\" \/><figcaption><em>Glenn Januska<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe whole Casper community is very excited to host the AOPA\nfly-in June 19th and 20<sup>th<\/sup>,\u201d said Glenn Januska, Airport Director. \u201cThere\nwas tremendous excitement during the solar eclipse in 2017 with the thousands\nof people who visited Casper, and we\u2019re ready to show off the community again!\u201d\nJanuska said the timing of the event during the College National Final Rodeos\n(CNFR) will give those in attendance with the fly-in an opportunity to\nexperience genuine western culture and get to see the best of the best college\nrodeo athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each location selected by AOPA has a personality of its own.\nFrom music to rodeos, car shows to airshows, and Wild West excursions to\nmetropolitan vibes, the 2020 fly-in locations will have something for everyone.\nAttendees at the San Marcos, Casper, and Rochester fly-ins will have a chance\nto experience the AOPA programming they\u2019ve come to enjoy with a Friday night\nFlightline Cookout, short takeoff and landing (STOL) invitational, drone show,\nseminars, exhibits, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"439\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/CPR-Eclipse-1edit-1024x439.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14476\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CPR-Eclipse-1edit-1024x439.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CPR-Eclipse-1edit-300x129.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CPR-Eclipse-1edit.jpg 1300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption><em>Aircraft on the ramp at Casper\/Natrona County International Airport in 2017. Thousands of visitors came to Casper to experience the full effect of the solar eclipse.  <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This year&#8217;s AOPA Fly-Ins will take us to two new\nstates in parts of the country we&#8217;ve not yet visited with exciting\nopportunities to explore their unique strengths,&#8221; said AOPA Senior\nDirector of Outreach and Events, Chris Eads. &#8220;And, we will also revisit\nthe roots of our regional fly-in program by returning to our very first fly-in\nlocation from 2014. We are looking forward to a fun year with lots of new\nflying adventures, and we hope you can join us!&#8221; Eads continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AOPA\u2019s two-day fly-ins will continue with in-depth workshops\non Fridays before the main Saturday event. The all-day intensive workshops,\nwhich in the past have included ground school for IFR proficiency;\nowner-performed maintenance; VFR long cross-country flight, and mountain flying\ntechniques and survival skills; and aviation adventures, proved wildly popular\nwith members and will continue to be offered in the 2020 fly-in season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe will be bringing back some of the most requested\nworkshops for 2020 offering engaging lessons to improve aviation knowledge and\nsafety,\u201d said Eads. &#8220;And, as always, we are working hard to create new and\nexciting opportunities for pilots of all levels to improve and expand their\nskills.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration for all 2020 fly-ins will open in February. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Casper, Wyoming was one of three locations selected by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) for its much anticipated 2020 fly-in locations.
