In a recent release, the agency said the recreational drone flyer test\nwill be an important opportunity to educate recreational flyers about the rules\nof the sky as they continue to safely integrate drones into the nation\u2019s\nairspace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A law passed in 2018 requires that recreational drone flyers\npass an online aeronautical knowledge and safety test and carry proof that they\nhave passed the test with them while operating a drone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In September, the FAA posted a request for information (RFI)\nasking for the drone community to submit suggestions on how best to administer\nthe new recreational knowledge test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on responses to the RFI, the organizations below have\nbeen invited to make recommendations on the administration of the test. These\nrecommendations will assist the agency in developing requirements that\npotential test administrators must meet. These requirements, and any associated\nselection criteria for test administrators will be announced on FAA.gov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Embry Riddle Aeronautical University<\/li><li>Drone Launch Academy Southeastern University<\/li><li>Science Applications International Corporation <\/li><li>DJI<\/li><li>Horizon Hobby, LLC.<\/li><li>Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Coach<\/li><li>King Schools<\/li><li>Unmanned Safety Institute<\/li><li>First Person View Freedom Coalition<\/li><li>Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association<\/li><li>Academy of Model Aeronautics; and<\/li><li>Drone Racing League.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The FAA has great safety information and tips on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/uas\/\">FAA.gov<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The FAA says it loves that the drone community is growing so quickly.
