Now a UAS\nService Supplier (USS) of LAANC, the Austin-based company will accelerate its\ncommitment to ensuring safe and secure integration of unmanned aerial vehicles\n(UAVs) into the global airspace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LAANC is a collaboration between FAA and industry partners\nto help automate the application and approval process for airspace\nauthorizations. The FAA service provides drone pilots with access to controlled\nairspace at or below 400 feet and air traffic professionals with visibility\ninto where and when drones are operating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;LAANC integration is a key addition to the SkyGrid\naerial operating system, which is focused on making UAV integration safer, more\nsecure, and collaborative with regulators across the globe,&#8221; said Amir\nHusain, CEO of SkyGrid. &#8220;By offering scalable and robust capabilities \u2013\nfrom flight planning to autonomous cybersecurity \u2013 in a single, integrated\nframework, SkyGrid will make large-scale drone applications more practical and\naccessible.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SkyGrid&#8217;s LAANC implementation will allow customers to\nseamlessly apply for flight approvals directly within the SkyGrid platform.\nThis integration provides approval for commercial (Part 107 Near Real-Time\nAuthorization and Part 107 Further Coordination) and recreational (Section\n44809) LAANC functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our goal is to collaborate across the globe as we\ndevelop this platform to safely enable the integration of autonomous cargo and\npassenger air vehicles in the global airspace,&#8221; said Steve Nordlund, vice\npresident and general manager of Boeing NeXt and a SkyGrid board member.\n&#8220;We&#8217;re committed to making the skies safer and having the right digital\ninfrastructure for reliable urban air mobility.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SkyGrid, a Boeing, SparkCognition company, announced it has been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a supplier of Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) services.
