Steven Baldwin Associates, LLC (SBA) announced that the FAA has approved an application to transfer the operation of the Syracuse Hancock International Airport from the City of Syracuse to the newly-created independent Syracuse Regional Airport Authority. <\/p>\n
SBA, serving as consultant of record, worked with the FAA, the City, Airport officials, and other local entities to develop and submit the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority\u2019s application to the FAA to assume management and operational control of the Airport.

\nThe FAA approved the application, which consisted of more than 2,000 pages of supporting documents, in a letter dated February 28, 2014. In its approval letter, the FAA concluded that the Authority \u201chas the necessary power and authority to act as an eligible airport sponsor.\u201d The transfer became effective March 1, 2014. <\/p>\n
SBA will continue to serve Syracuse with\u00c2\u00a0transitional\u00c2\u00a0services to all\u00c2\u00a0parties during the\u00c2\u00a0upcoming year.<\/p>\n
At a ceremony held Monday, March 3rd at the Airport in recognition of the inauguration of operations by the SRAA, Steve Baldwin, the CEO and founder of SBA, stated, \u201cWe are delighted that the FAA approved the application in a timely and efficient manner. The application was strong and demonstrated that the SRAA was well poised to assume responsibility for the Airport.\u201d<\/p>\n
