Khanna has held multiple\nsenior management and engineering roles in the aviation market and specializes\nin airfield pavement design, assessment and management best practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Vivek-Khanna.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14242\" width=\"215\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Vivek-Khanna.jpg 436w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Vivek-Khanna-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 215px) 100vw, 215px\" \/><figcaption><em>Vivek Khanna<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Khanna, who is based in Dallas, will merge his extensive\ngeneral aviation (GA) and commercial airport experience with the knowledge,\nreputation and bench strength of Woolpert to address the growing Texas aviation\nmarket, which is potentially the largest in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNothing about Texas is small,\u201d Khanna said. \u201cThe state has\n27 commercial service airports, 24 reliever airports and 67 business\/corporate\nairports, and they\u2019re reporting record numbers of passengers enplaned. Texas\nhas 294 airports in its system, and about a $2.75 billion pipeline of airport\ninfrastructure improvement needs. There\u2019s a lot of opportunity here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although he is new to Woolpert, Khanna has worked with the\narchitecture, engineering and geospatial (AEG) firm on previous airport\nprojects at various points in his career. In addition to Woolpert\u2019s decades in\nairport design, Khanna said he is impressed by the firm\u2019s contributions to the\nFederal Aviation Administration\u2019s (FAA) information management modernization\nefforts and in bringing cutting-edge solutions, including enterprise asset\nmanagement and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) integration into the National\nAirspace System (NAS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe firm\u2019s geospatial and strategic consulting expertise\nprovides a great advantage over other airport design firms. It\u2019s like an ace up\nour sleeve, and it helps us in teaming and in understanding an airport\u2019s\ncomprehensive needs,\u201d Khanna said. \u201cWhen I worked with Woolpert, I found it to\nbe a smooth, well-managed operation. The firm completed projects on time and\nflexed a deep knowledge base\u2014and, something that is very important to me, the\npeople are nice, as well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Woolpert Senior Vice President and Infrastructure Sector\nLeader Tom Mochty noted that Khanna\u2019s skills and regional knowledge make him a\ngreat fit for this role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVivek\u2019s experience and commitment to clients and\npartnerships in the Texas market align extremely well with those we have\ncultivated ourselves over the past several years.
