{"id":14228,"date":"2019-11-18T18:12:36","date_gmt":"2019-11-18T18:12:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=14228"},"modified":"2019-11-18T18:12:38","modified_gmt":"2019-11-18T18:12:38","slug":"nbaa-awards-inaugural-cheri-rudd-memorial-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/national-news\/nbaa-awards-inaugural-cheri-rudd-memorial-scholarship\/%20","title":{"rendered":"NBAA Awards Inaugural Cheri Rudd Memorial Scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has named\nbusiness aviation flight attendant Rebekah Knaster as the recipient of its\nfirst Cheri Rudd Memorial Scholarship, for exemplifying business aviation\u2019s\ncommitment to exceptional customer service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Knaster was awarded a $2,500 scholarship to attend accredited\nprofessional training courses focused on advanced customer service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This annual scholarship was created in memory of Cheri Rudd,\nwho as NBAA\u2019s longtime manager for office coordination established a\nprofessional and cordial standard of customer service that epitomized the\nassociation\u2019s dedication to excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rudd joined NBAA as a receptionist in 1990 after serving in\nsimilar positions with several Washington, DC, firms. She quickly became known\nby everyone associated with NBAA as a trusted resource, dedicated to answering\npeople\u2019s questions, helping solve their problems, and getting them whatever\ninformation was requested in a timely manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rudd, who passed away in 2018, was one of the first NBAA\nemployees inducted into the association\u2019s Order of the Orange Crate, which\nrecognizes staff members who make NBAA a great organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCheri was a warm and gracious person who brought\nexperience, understanding and kindness to everything she did at NBAA,\u201d said\nassociation President and CEO Ed Bolen. \u201cThe Cheri Rudd Memorial Scholarship\nkeeps her memory alive and inspires others to commit themselves to the highest\nlevel of professionalism.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cheri Rudd Memorial Scholarship was created by NBAA, in\ncoordination with NBAA Charities, to support business aviation professionals\ndemonstrating exemplary dedication to professionalism, life-long learning and\nhelping others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funds of up to $2,500 are awarded to recipients to attend\nprofessional training opportunities, including but not limited to the following\nsources: NBAA Leadership Conference, NBAA Schedulers &amp; Dispatchers\nConference, NBAA Business Aviation Convention &amp; Exhibition (NBAA-BACE),\nDisney Institute and Ritz-Carlton.
