Those inducted into the halls of fame are\nselected by their peers for myriad contributions made to their respective areas\nof aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019-Henry-Kimberly-Award-Michel-Brysonedit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14202\" width=\"129\" height=\"212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019-Henry-Kimberly-Award-Michel-Brysonedit.jpg 500w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019-Henry-Kimberly-Award-Michel-Brysonedit-183x300.jpg 183w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 129px) 100vw, 129px\" \/><figcaption><em>Michel Bryson<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, <strong>Michel Bryson<\/strong> of Oshkosh received the Henry Kimberly Spirit of Leadership Award for her efforts on behalf of EAA and the local community. Bryson has chaired the International Visitors Tent team at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh for more than 15 years, leading a volunteer group that welcomes aviation enthusiasts from more than 80 countries to Oshkosh each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EAA HALLS OF FAME 2019 INDUCTEES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>HOMEBUILDERS HALL OF FAME <\/em>                                                                  Robert Nuckolls (EAA 205021): Nuckolls\u2019 knowledge of aircraft electrical systems has been invaluable for aircraft builders for more than 30 years. With a passion of electronics that began in childhood, Nuckolls\u2019 publication The AeroElectric Connection has been a staple for builders along with his many contributions to EAA Sport Aviation magazine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nuckolls has worked for every airframe manufacturer in his\nhome region of Wichita, Kansas, and retired in 2007 as an acknowledged leading\nexpert in aircraft electronics. He has owned, restored or maintained an impressive roster of vintage aircraft including types from Ryan, Stinson, Howard, Spartan, Beech, and Waco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turgyan\u2019s close friendship and association with the late Jim\nYounkin also led him to be one of the few pilots selected to fly Younkin\u2019s\nwell-known racing replicas, including Mr. Mulligan and the Travel Air Mystery\nShip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019-Aerobatics-John-Morrissey-646x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14204\" width=\"142\" height=\"226\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019-Aerobatics-John-Morrissey-646x1024.jpg 646w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019-Aerobatics-John-Morrissey-189x300.jpg 189w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019-Aerobatics-John-Morrissey.jpg 1132w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 142px) 100vw, 142px\" \/><figcaption><em>John Morrissey<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>INTERNATIONAL AEROBATIC CLUB HALL OF FAME    <\/em>                                 John Morrissey (EAA 83879): Morrissey has been flying for more than 60 years, including a stint in the U.S. Air Force that earned him the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service in Vietnam. He turned to aerobatic flying competition in the 1970s and won national championships in both the Sportsman and Advanced categories. He also earned spots on the U.S. Advanced team that competed in the world championships, including the team gold medal performance in 1996.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Morrissey is also known for his specialized aerobatic\ntraining camps that began in the early 1990s. Through that resource, he has\nperhaps shaped more aerobatic careers than any other American individual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019-Warbirds-Dennis-Sandersedit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14205\" width=\"139\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019-Warbirds-Dennis-Sandersedit.jpg 500w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019-Warbirds-Dennis-Sandersedit-179x300.jpg 179w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 139px) 100vw, 139px\" \/><figcaption><em>Dennis Sander<\/em>s<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WARBIRDS OF AMERICA HALL OF FAME<\/em>                                                     Dennis Sanders (EAA 299945): Sanders is a member of the family that has spent decades restoring and maintaining rare warbirds, particularly the Hawker Sea Fury. He is perhaps the highest-time Sea Fury pilot in the world. Sanders is perhaps best known for his participation in the Unlimited Gold category at the National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nevada, with the legendary Dreadnought Sea Fury he flew to the 2019 national title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sanders remains has a check airman at Reno and has also been\nan active air show performer for the past three decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Homebuilts-Morry-Hummel001-1edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14206\" width=\"325\" height=\"166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Homebuilts-Morry-Hummel001-1edit.jpg 600w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Homebuilts-Morry-Hummel001-1edit-300x154.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 325px) 100vw, 325px\" \/><figcaption><em>Morry Hummel<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>ULTRALIGHTS HALL OF FAME<\/em>                                                                        Morry Hummel (EAA 8892 &#8211; posthumous): Hummel played a major role in the interest and growth of the ultralight community, beginning with his HummelBird in the 1980s \u2013 a modified Windwagon that included a version that used a converted Volkswagen engine. In the 1990s, Hummel designed and flew the all-metal UltraCruiser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hummel\u2019s flying career spanned nearly 50 years until he was\nin his early 90s.
