All 30 students in this session were from Gold\nStar Families &#8211; the immediate family of service members who died while serving\nin a war or other conflict. For the first time, the program featured a session\non drones as part of National Drone Safety Awareness Week.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/20191108_093128edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14183\" width=\"174\" height=\"165\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/20191108_093128edit.jpg 700w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/20191108_093128edit-300x285.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 174px) 100vw, 174px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Students were able to build a Stratux, an open-source\nportable ADS-B receiver using a Raspberry Pi. Once constructed, the students were\nable to attach the device to an IPad and track aircraft in the area.
