Airport Authority, will receive the American Association of Airport\nExecutives\u2019 (AAAE) Distinguished Service Award, which is presented to airport\nexecutives in honor of an exemplary career and contributions to the airport\nindustry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Victor-White.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Victor-White.jpg 200w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Victor-White-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Victor-White-60x60.jpg 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><figcaption><em>Victor White<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVic is an invaluable colleague who has served the nation\u2019s\naviation community in many important roles over his remarkable career,\nincluding highly-respected airport leader and active AAAE member,\u201d said AAAE\nChair Tory Richardson, A.A.E., President and CEO, Gerald R. Ford International\nAirport. \u201cIn addition to more than four and a half decades of tireless service\nto the aviation industry, Vic has devoted his time and expertise in a wide\nrange of volunteer positions that have resulted in countless improvements\nthroughout our industry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Distinguished Service Award is one of AAAE\u2019s highest\nlevels of recognition. Men and women receive the award as a mark of\naccomplishments in their professional and personal lives. Respected leaders of\ntheir own communities, these men and women also contribute to other aviation\norganizations, serve AAAE and its chapters, and participate in civic and\ncommunity affairs. Distinguished Service Award winners exemplify the best in\nairport management by continually bringing credit to the profession and the\naviation community. All DSA winners are Accredited Airport Executives (A.A.E.)\nand exemplify the standards accreditation seeks to inspire. White will receive\nthe award this afternoon at a meeting of the Wichita Airport Authority Advisory\nBoard of Directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>White has been active in many aspects of AAAE over the\nyears, including serving on the Board of Directors of the South Central Chapter\nand the Northwest Chapter, culminating in being elected to serve as Chapter\nPresident of both organizations. He has served as Conference Chair of the AAAE\nAirport Planning, Design and Construction Symposium and the Northwest Chapter\nAnnual Conference. Since joining AAAE in the late 1970s, White has served on\nevery AAAE committee. He became an A.A.E. in 1985.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>White\u2019s professional career spans more than 45 years. He\njoined the City of Wichita Airport Authority as Director of Airports in 2005,\nwhere he directs the administration, operations and development of both Dwight\nD. Eisenhower National Airport and Colonel James Jabara Airport in Wichita.\nPrior to that, he was Executive Director of Orlando Sanford International\nAirport; Deputy Director of Airports for the Salt Lake City Airport Authority;\nDirector of Airports for Midland International Airport; Executive Director of\nthe Waukegan (Ill.) Port District; and Duty Airport Manager at Dallas Fort\nWorth International Airport. He was also an Airport Management Consultant with\nLandrum &amp; Brown in Cincinnati and an Airport Management Intern at Saint\nLouis Lambert International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, White has served as a board member of the\nIllinois Public Airports Association, the Texas Airport Managers\u2019 Association,\nthe Greater Orlando Economic Development Council, the MetroPlan Orlando\nregional transportation planning organization and the Sanford\/Seminole County\nChamber of Commerce in Florida. He was Vice Chairman of the Florida Department\nof Transportation\u2019s Central Florida Aviation System Plan. He has also served on\nthe Kansas Governor\u2019s Aviation Advisory Council, the Kansas State University\nAirport Management Advisory Council, the Wichita Area Economic Outlook Team,\nthe World Trade Council of Wichita, the Kansas International Trade Task Force,\nthe Wichita Chamber of Commerce Air Service Task Force and the Wichita Insight\nLeadership Team.
