Raytheon Company awarded two Women in Aviation scholarships\nas part of the Air Traffic Control Association’s (ATCA) Scholarship Fund\nProgram. Each scholarship winner will receive a $10,000 cash scholarship to\npursue an aviation-related degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Administered by ATCA and announced in conjunction with the\norganization’s 64th annual conference, the Raytheon Women in Aviation\nScholarship awardees include the following college students:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Antonella Mancebo, Broward College, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Mary McCormick, University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, N.D.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n “We need more women in aviation fields,” said Matt\nGilligan, vice president of Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services.\n“By partnering with ATCA on these scholarships, we are providing\nopportunities for promising students to pursue rewarding aviation\ncareers.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the FAA Aeronautical Center, women represent 30\npercent of the total population of non-pilot aviation professionals and only\nseven percent of certified pilots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Women contribute to the success and innovation of the\nworld’s airspace each and every day,” said Pete Dumont, president and\nchief executive officer at ATCA. “This scholarship advances our goal to\nencourage them to seek executive level positions within aviation and the\naeronautical sciences.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Raytheon Company awarded two Women in Aviation scholarships as part of the Air Traffic Control Association’s (ATCA) Scholarship Fund Program.
