The Lee County Port Authority, Board of Port Commissioners,\nbusiness partners and Florida Department of Transportation held a grand opening\nfor the new Multi-Use Hangar at Page Field (FMY) in Fort Myers, Fla., on Oct.\n10, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new Multi-Use Hangar is 24,000 square feet with four\ncrew offices. The project also included 58,000 square feet of paved apron,\nwhich will help address the seasonal demand for aircraft ramp parking. The cost\nfor the new hangar was more than $7 million, with 50 percent being funded by\nthe Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBusiness at Page Field has continued to flourish with more\nflight activity and an increased demand for space to house aircraft, as well as\nprovide additional tenant support and services,\u201d said Jeff Mulder, A.A.E,\nexecutive director of the Lee County Port Authority. \u201cThis new hangar\ncontributes to positive development in Lee County and will meet future needs of\nbusiness and general aviation in Southwest Florida.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Page Field is one of the busier general aviation facilities\nin the state with more than 98,000 operations in 2018 and serves as a Federal\nAviation Administration-designated reliever airport for Southwest Florida\nInternational Airport. The 2019 FDOT Economic Impact Study shows the benefit of\nPage Field is $385 million annually to the region and supports more than 3,328\njobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
