The FAA is accepting nominations for qualified candidates to\nserve on the Women in Aviation Advisory Board at the Federal Register through\nOctober 29, 2019. The objective of the Board is to provide independent advice\nand recommendations to the FAA in supporting women\u2019s involvement in the\naviation field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation\nAdministration are committed to working with industry, academia and government\nto find ways to address the shortage of female professionals entering aviation\ncareers by recruiting women through this committee, and providing them with\nclear pathways to aviation careers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The work of the Board will focus on analyzing industry\ntrends; coordinating efforts among airlines, nonprofit organizations, and aviation\nand engineering associations to facilitate support for women pursuing aviation\ncareers; expanding scholarship opportunities; and enhancing training,\nmentorship, education and outreach programs for women interested in aviation\ncareers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe must find ways to inspire women and young people to\nenter the aviation profession,\u201d said FAA Administrator Steve Dickson. \u201cWe need\npilots, mechanics, engineers and many other professionals to enter the aviation\nprofession pipeline, and I look forward to working with the Secretary to boost\nthe number of aviation professionals and keep our nation\u2019s aviation industry\nstrong and vital.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
