The new helicopters are an investment in our ability\nto serve the people of Western Canada for decades to come, and we can\u2019t wait to\nput this H145 into service in Saskatchewan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>STARS is a physician-led helicopter air ambulance\norganization that aims to provide critically ill and injured people the vital\nemergency medical care they need when they need it the most. STARS\u2019 doctors,\nnurses, paramedics and pilots work with a team of dedicated support staff and community\npartners to save lives through rapid and specialized emergency medical care and\ntransportation. The organization has carried out more than 42,000 missions\nsince it was founded in 1985.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2018, STARS launched an ambitious, multi-year plan to\nreplace its aging fleet of helicopters, including the BK117. Following an\nextensive review of aircraft, it selected the H145 for its cutting-edge\ntechnology, advanced safety features and similarities to its predecessor, the BK117.\nThe new H145 helicopters will ultimately operate out of a total of six bases\nacross Western Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are proud to deliver this third H145 to STARS in support\nof their extremely important lifesaving missions,\u201d said Dwayne Charette,\npresident of Airbus Helicopters Canada. \u201cThe H145 family of aircraft provides a\nproven and flexible platform for even the most specialized emergency medical\nservices work, and we look forward to continuing to support STARS\u2019 operations\nwith the additional H145s on their way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airbus\u2019 H145 is a class-leader among light twin-engine\nhelicopters.
