Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will close one of\nits south runways (Runway 7R\/25L) for maintenance beginning at 10 p.m. on\nFriday, November 1, through 7 a.m. on Monday, November 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The airport has been in communication with the airlines and\nthe Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to determine the least disruptive\ntime for the closure. The time period of November 1-4 was chosen as the most\nacceptable option. Phoenix Sky Harbor has worked to provide as much notice as\npossible, so that the airlines can plan for possible impacts. Sky Harbor has\ntwo additional runways one on the north side and another on the south side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project involves performing preventative electrical\nmaintenance inside the runway safety area. Work that is being completed\nincludes converting all associated runway lighting to LED lighting, replacing\nand repairing electric cabling for various lighting circuits on the runway and\ninside the runway safety area, aircraft tire rubber build up removal,\nmaintenance of runway paint markings and limited concrete repairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The south runway that is being closed is an arrival runway.\nArrival delays could occur during peak hours of operation on Saturday, November\n2, from approximately 6 p.m. \u2013 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Passengers who have tight connections should contact their\nairline if they are concerned about having enough time to transfer between\nflights.
