Thanks to the generous support of the Burgher Fund and\ndiscounts provided by SIG Manufacturing and Horizon Hobby, the complete project\nis available to EAA Chapters for just $500, approximately one-third the usual\nretail price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/eKadet-nose-2019-by-Connor_Madisonedit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13912\" width=\"297\" height=\"198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/eKadet-nose-2019-by-Connor_Madisonedit.jpg 500w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/eKadet-nose-2019-by-Connor_Madisonedit-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 297px) 100vw, 297px\" \/><figcaption><em>eKadet kit &#8211; here and at top by Connor Madison.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Build and Fly program meets the challenges of providing\nhands-on engagement for youth who have an interest in flight,\u201d said Rick\nLarsen, EAA\u2019s vice president of publications, programs, and marketing.\n\u201cFundamental building skills, aircraft design, theory of flight, and flight\ntraining are all involved in a fun project that supplies a true sense of\naccomplishment when completed. It is also another \u2018next step\u2019 possibility for\nYoung Eagles who are flown by EAA chapters throughout the country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EAA chapters will partner with their local AMA Club to\ncreate a \u201cbuild project\u201d and a learn-to-fly program for interested youth.\nParticipants will discover how to both build and fly this popular\nradio-controlled trainer in hopes they will continue their pursuit of aviation.\nThe easy-to-fly LT-40 eKadet is an American-designed and manufactured kit that,\nwhen completed, has a nearly six-foot wingspan that can be flown at AMA club\nflying fields to continue the engagement with youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe path from RC modeling to full-scale aviation is a\nlong-established and successful one,\u201d said Chad Budreau, AMA executive\ndirector. \u201cAMA clubs nationwide have the facilities and enthusiasm to welcome\nand engage a new generation of fliers. We eagerly join with EAA and our\npartners to make this program a widespread success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201cYoung Eagles Build and Fly\u201d program is now available to\nEAA chapters.
